Social media photos and videos are misleading or i would comment their advertising did a great job, advertising it. In reality, it looks and feels different than what I got from the social media.
I ordered stir fry pea shoot with garlic and Sichuan shrimps. The veggie was delicious but a bit too salty for my liking, I added some water to dilute the saltiness. The shrimps were yummy and flavorful but they were hard to peel - sticking to the shells.
I wasn't impressed by their service attitude though. There was no greeting when I arrived or departed. The overall interactions with the staff felt cold and indifferent. Not planning to come back.
We came here with anticipation as it's a Chinese restaurant we've been curious about for a while. We tried the Chong Qing Hot Chicken, Seafood Fried Rice, and Golden Garlic Pork Spareribs. The atmosphere in the restaurant, including the background music, felt more stylish and didn't have the typical Chinese restaurant vibe. I had anticipated fusion cuisine, but to my surprise, all the dishes had an authentic Chinese taste, and the menu was extensive. 😲 They don't have a parking lot, so street parking is the only option, which can be inconvenient, but they were all delicious and we will come again and try the other dishes again.🤤
If you're ever in Portland and craving Chinese cuisine, give Tasty Corner Chinese Restaurant a try. It's an absolutely phenomenal restaurant! My husband and I went for the first time for lunch today, and we were quite impressed. Their orange chicken was some of the best I think I've ever had the pleasure of trying. I added broccoli and ordered a side of chicken fried rice. The fried rice was tasty and cooked perfectly --- and fresh! My husband ordered their crispy noodles with beef. What an interesting dish, I have to say! Delicious! Don't sleep on their hot and sour soup or pot stickers, either. Everything was so flavorful, service was excellent, and we have plenty of leftovers! (Four star atmosphere, because they were playing a full playlist of Taylor Swift's early work and it made me cry.)
Best Chinese food since I lived in Taiwan. Absolutely awesome! The hot garlic wonton soup is one of the best soups I've had in my life, and the General Tso's prawn is ASTOUNDING, seriously. Food came really quickly. Excellent service, too.
Had to start the year off right with some good Chinese food. They have an extensive menu with lots of what you would normally see and then some more authentic dishes that you don't expect to see. They also have a great lunch special. Some of the standout dishes for me were the Hot & Spicy Dried Pot with Pork Spareribs, Szechuan Beef Brisket with Bamboo shoot stew hot pot, and their hand shaved noodle dish. The noodles were extremely flavorful and caught me off guard. Overall, it is a great place to go with friends.
Best Szechuan in Portland. Hands down. Szechuan Beef Soup is fire 🔥!! Soup Dumplings are great. Spicy Szechuan Wontons…bomb!! Must try if you want spicy Szechuan in Portland.
I come here all the time, this place is great! The people who work here are all super nice and helpful. Every tofu dish I've had is amazing, and I've had almost all of them. Vegetables are cooked really well, too. Everything is seasoned perfectly, and everyone I've taken has been a big fan of their hand-shaved noodles. Their lunch specials are a great deal too, you get a lot for your money. Can't recommend this place enough!
Very good experience and tasty/spicy Chinese food! Will definitely come back to try other options on the menu! Got the dumplings 🔥, Mandarin chicken 🔥, salty pepper fish (wish had more flavor/seasoning), hand shaven noodles 🔥which are pretty spicy, and the Crab puffs 🔥
